Alphabet Rocks - Sisters, What!

Alphabet Rocks

Alphabet Rocks
While Marme was here, we also did a few creative things together while the little one slept. We have all these flat rocks from Lake Erie and marme found all these cute ideas on pinterest here and here. She wanted to do animals as well, but she only was able to do the alphabet.
I just LOVE how they turned out. Can  you see where we all get our attempted creativity from? she is just brilliant and so colorful in everything she does.

Here's what she did:
- she painted a base coat of white acrylic paint and let dry.
- Then she painted on the letters with different colors
- next she outlined with a sharpie marker
- Lastly she coated it with clear nail polish (you could use a different sealer, but we only had nail polish on hand).
- then your done!
I thought that they would be perfect to play without side or take on a picnic.
I took them outside for mr. little one to play with and he had no problem scrabbling them up.
He kept picking up different ones and would just hold them and look at them. And then he'd start putting them in his mouth (don't worry I stopped him before it reached his mouth ; )
Happy Alphabetizing!

  2. That's a good way to keep the children occupied and learning about crafting as well.

  7. I like this!
Have no idea where I could find 26 evenly sized rocks and I am too tight to buy any but have put out the *word* so will keep this idea for when I get some.
