DIY Embroidered Belt Bag Tutorial with Free Daisy Embroidery Pattern

Make your own DIY floral belt bag and download a free daisy embroidery pattern (at end of post).

how to embroider a belt bag with daisy embroidery pattern
This was a weekend embroidery project that I did during a weekend of LDS General Conference (a weekend of uplifting messages from our leaders - it's free and you can go back and listen). I don't have time to embroidery all the time. But when I'm just listening or driving as a passenger, it's really the perfect past time activity. I can listen and do at the same time.  It's no wonder ladies did it as a group. They could chat with eachother and get some embroidery done. I sometimes feel like part of me belonged in a Jane Austen society. Basically, embroidery is a great pass time activity when you need something to do with your hands but still want to listen or watch something. I have even embroidered my blundstone boots on a very long airplane ride.

Well, I had gotten this new Product of the North bag and decided it needed some embroidery added to it and added some daisies that are based on my daisy stickers from my shop. To make it easy, I used stick and stitch interface. If you haven't used that stuff yet, it's amazing! You can print designs on it or you can draw your own designs.

I have used it to help my kids learn how to embroidery (see post about how to teach kids embroidery) and it gives them confidence without the headache. Even my son feels like he can embroidery when he was just 5. It is really nice when you can give kids the opportunity to do something creative that otherwise could be hard for their age. The only thing I struggle with is helping them thread the needle and keeping the thread on. I actually knot the thread on the top of the needle so I don't have to thread the needle multipe times.

I wanted to share this project on here and I have the free daisy pattern that you may use for your own personal use. I made a video of it in use here:

DIY Floral Belt Bag Tutorial with Free Daisy Embroidery Pattern:

Supplies:
Crossbody Bag (I used a Product of the North hip bag - which is great quality- but any plain canvas can work)

Step 1: Print or draw embroidery design

If you're going to use my daisy pattern, you need to download it and size it. You can do it in a word doc or in canva. Just make sure your document is set to printable size of 8.5x11. Then upload or copy it in to canva or word doc. Size it to the size you want. Then print following the directions of the stick and stitch interface.

Step 2: Start embroidering

Now the fun begins! Start your embroidery.

Step 3: Rinse the interface off

This part is pretty cool. Just run your embroidery carefully under water and gently rub it until it comes off. Let it dry. That's it!

My daughter likes to take this on trips or outings we go on. She just recently bought a souvenir hat from one of our trips and hopes to add embroidery to it. Embroidery is such a fun way to add a little home made, cottage core magic to an item.
