Bead Maze Quiet Page - Tutorial

how to make a bead maze quiet page
I actually made this quiet page a couple years ago, but since then a few people have asked for a template/tutorial on how I made it. So here it is finally. It's definitely one of the favorites of all the quiet pages that we have. Perfect for our 18 month old and our 4 year old.

I used two different color fabric for the front and the back.

Bead Maze Quiet Page

Materials:
A medium weight pellon
Fun beads in different sizes
Yarn
2 different color fabric 12x12 each
bias tape long enough to go around the whole page

Tutorial
||1|| Below you can see my template. Measure out 4 equal spaces and mark a 4 x 4 grid with a fabric marker. Once those are marked, sandwich your pellon between your two 12x12 fabric pieces and then pin and sew on the marked lines.
||2|| After that is sewn, make button holes on each as shown below. I made them as big as I could because of the bead sizes I had. So it's up to you how big you make them.
||3|| string your string through the button holes. Start your string on one corner and make your way (in any design or pattern - as long as you go through all the holes) and end in the opposite corner. The string shouldn't be tight but not too loose. . Make sure your string is pinned to the first corner (or you can already sew it in place at the edge - the binding should cover the end of the string up). After the string is strung through the holes, add your beads on. Then sew your end string to the opposite corner.

||4|| Once you're done making button holes, sew on the binding. Cluck, Cluck, Sew has a great tutorial on machine sewing on binding.

And that's it.
