The Monster Book of Monsters - Harry Potter

Harry Potter monster Book of Monsters DIY Halloween decoration!!
Today I had to share my recent Harry Potter creation of The Monster Book of Monsters. It was actually my husbands idea for a birthday present for his mother; she is a big fan of Harry Potter. I wasn't so sure she'd like it, but he was positive. So he came up with the idea and then me and Captain Awesome made it.

For last Halloween, baby sweet cheeks was Dobby the house elf. He was only 4 months old and he made the cutest little elf. Seriously, just look at that smile.

Shakespeare [and Harry Potter] Halloween Free Printable

I love the fall season, but I must admit, when it comes to Halloween I stay far away from anything remotely scary or too Halloweenish. Seriously, when we lived in Erie Pa, we literally lived in the only part of town where EVERYONE decked out their front patios and lawns with scary decor. I took the long way home every day. If your child comes trick or treating with a scary costume on, I might just not answer the door. Just joking, but not really. What can I say, I hate scary. Anyway, this print I have for you today just passes my strict Halloween code. Well, it's just too good not to put up.
Something wicked this way comes

Sunshine Sunday: Gratitude

A super simple phrase but one that is true. It is amazing how much happier when are midst trials when we just show gratitude for what we do have. As we make this a habit in our lives we begin to see more and more what God has blessed us with, and it helps us see how the trials we experience will bless us as well. Instead of just being mad that we are going through it.

Framed White Bean Pumpkin Picture

About a week ago, a friend of mine decided to have a little fall crafty party. She picked two easy crafts that we could do, and then everyone brought their own crafty supplies for their chosen craft. One of the crafts was these cute button pumpkin pictures (see example HERE). I was planning on doing it like the picture, but then last week I saw Amy's (from Delineate Your Dwelling) bean pumpkin and had the idea of using beans instead of buttons.

psss...have you seen these Harry Potter Coloring books!!
Sierra and I are planning our annual Harry Potter party and I realized that this blog just wouldn't be the same without our traditional Harry Potter goodness during the month of October. October has become our official way of showing our nerdy Harry Potter love in full force. Stay tuned throughout October for some fun HP posts. I promise you won't regret it.

Friday Finds: DIY Gifts

Today we're sharing with you some of our favorite DIY Gift Ideas. I've added them to my list to be done, now I just need to make it happen :).

I love this bracelet. Cute, simple and really easy to make. So for your fashion lover friend here is a great idea for them.

Now I think these signs are great because not only are they simple, but you could do any words you want, and any color you want. So you could cater it to whoever the gift receiver will be!

Now this blanket I might just make for myself, I love it! Even though it is fall I think it would be a great blanket for the summer time, all though I'm sure you could pick a different kind of material to make it a little warmer.
 Found here.

Now here is for your colorful friend. A way cute and fun art piece for their wall. Hopefully you'll see this up on my wall soon. But what a fun project!

If you try any of these out let us know, we'd love to see your finished project! Have a great weekend.

Pencil Holder |Writers Block| - Handmade Christmas

Today for our Handmade Christmas gift, I wanted to share with you what I made for my brother last Christmas. He is an avid writer and reader. I probably wouldn't have made it through freshman year of collage if it wasn't for him. He taught me how to think and how to put those thoughts onto paper. I'm sure it was painful for him to work me through all those papers, but I really couldn't have done it without him. He hasn't written a book (yet), but he does blog-two actually-and they are both worth reading: Publius Online and Attack of the Books
